Job Summary

The Clinical Social Worker (CSW) functions as a treatment team member, providing case management, individual treatment, and group treatment for patients committed to the Department of State Hospitals. The CSW evaluates patients upon admission, through their hospital stay, and through the discharge process. Guided by their clinical opinion, the CSW determines the patient's avenues for release from hospital care, coordinates potential discharge resources in the community, and assists with patient's transition to a community setting.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Applicants must possess completion of a Master's degree in Social Work program from an accredited school of social work and must be registered with California Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) as either ACSW or LCSW.

Desirable Qualifications

A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Clinical Social Worker in a mental health facility is highly desired.
