Job Summary:

As a skilled MRI Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing a variety of MRI procedures and supporting departmental functions. Under the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, you will work effectively with patients of all ages, adjusting scanning parameters and selecting equipment to enhance images and minimize risk factors.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify gross pathology in the human body and adjust T1 and T2 scanning parameters to provide pertinent information for interpretation.Effectively perform Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, reformats, and MIP imaging, as well as specialized exams such as MRA runoffs and post arthrogram work-ups.Use magnetic resonance and adjust parameters to minimize exposure to patients and yourself, following established protocols and scanning techniques.Photograph, archive, and retrieve images, and identify each patient, reviewing requisitions and previous studies for consistency.Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, explaining the dangers associated with implants and devices, and ensuring proper film identification on all images.Maintain daily patient MRI logs, documenting patient information accurately and ensuring the quality of patient care.Organize patient care and set priorities, providing critical care first and implementing physician orders.Perform proper computer skills and demonstrate working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges, and profiles.Perform other duties as directed.Basic Qualifications:

Minimum one (1) year of experience as an MRI technologist, or registry eligible ARRT advanced certification in MRI required; however, for new hires in classification, must be obtained within 12 months of hire with one (1) year recent experience as a Radiologic technologist with ARRT required.Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program or MRI Accredited Certificate Program required.High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.Additional Requirements:
Venipuncture competency check off required within 3 months of hire.Required to stand, push, pull, and lift patients.Must be able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow.May be required to lift objects heavier than 50 pounds, perform difficult manipulative skills, and hand-eye coordination skills, walk and stand for prolonged periods, see objects closely, and hear normal sounds with some background noises.Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time.Must have good oral and written communication skills.Knowledge of customer-focused service requirements of the organization.Ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively with members and coworkers.Proficiency in applicable computer software.Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
