As a MRI Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. Under the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, you will perform a variety of MRI procedures and departmental support functions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine, and extremities on patients of all ages, adjusting scanning parameters for different patient body habitus and selecting and modifying technical factors to enhance images.
- Identify gross pathology in the human body and adjust T1 and T2 scanning parameters to provide pertinent information for interpretation, while minimizing risk factors to self and patient.
- Perform specialized exams, including Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, reformats, and MIP imaging, using magnetic resonance and adjusting parameters to minimize exposure to patient and self.
- Effectively communicate with patients, explaining the procedure and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the examination.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, examination results, and technical parameters used.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy.
- Minimum one year of experience as an MRI technologist, or registry eligible ARRT advanced certification in MRI required; however, for new hires in classification, must be obtained within 12 months of hire with one year recent experience as a Radiologic technologist with ARRT required.
- Graduate of an accredited radiology technology program or MRI Accredited Certificate Program required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging within 12 months of hire OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Certificate required.
