We are seeking a dedicated Technical Applications Engineer to enhance our sales efforts and provide exceptional support to our clients. This role is hands-on and customer-oriented, based in our Applications Lab.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Champion our advanced motion and positioning systems throughout the sales journey, ensuring consistent customer engagement.
  • Design and engineer tailored solutions, navigating through mechanical assembly, software programming, and system control processes.
  • Utilize your exceptional communication skills to capture customer feedback, ensuring that the developed solutions align with their requirements.
  • Create and test solutions across PI's diverse product range, addressing customer inquiries and ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Develop innovative solutions for current and future market demands through Proof-of-Concept initiatives.
  • Conduct product demonstrations at client locations, oversee standard and custom installations, and manage retrofitting projects.
  • Educate clients on the effective use of PI products, customizing training to meet their specific applications.
  • Leverage your in-depth product knowledge to assist clients in achieving superior performance through proactive support and inventive troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive sales cycle and the delivery of robust technical solutions.
  • Contribute to future developments by documenting and sharing industry trends to inform next-generation product innovation.
  • Provide both remote and on-site customer support as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in motion control and familiarity with piezoceramics or DC/stepper/linear motors.
  • Experience in fields such as hexapod/Stewart platforms, air bearing technology, microscopy, optics, photonics, laser processing, metrology, and machine vision/imaging is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and tools such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, C, C#, C++, and G-Code is ideal.
  • Experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Linux systems, and industrial automation controls is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel, with less than 10% anticipated.
