The Human Resources division at Lockheed Martin Space delivers strategic human capital support that aligns with the primary objectives of the organization.

This dynamic hybrid Business Partner role will provide Labor Relations and HR guidance to specific Operations functions.

The chosen candidate will be a vital advocate for Lockheed Martin's culture and principles; collaborating with our business leaders on strategic initiatives.

The successful candidate will engage with leadership, employees, and cross-functional teams to address complex organizational challenges and will be an essential member of the client's leadership team.


This position will primarily focus on Labor Relations responsibilities for specific Mission Operations sites and will oversee the administration and interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for represented employees both onsite and offsite.


The Labor Relations/HR Business Partner will serve as a trusted advisor; proactively engaging with program leadership to influence and positively impact the organization by identifying resources and formulating actionable recommendations for leadership consideration.

This role provides leaders with coaching, consultation, and guidance regarding effective management of personnel, organizational structure, and workforce planning.

Additionally, key responsibilities will include collaboration with relevant HR Centers of Excellence subject matter experts to design and deliver innovative HR solutions in core areas such as:
  • Total Rewards and Performance Management
  • Talent Management and Development
  • Staffing/Workforce Strategy
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Compensation
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a wide range of labor relations activities including contract administration, grievance investigation, pre-arbitration settlement negotiations, arbitration, and contract negotiations.
  • Advise management on the application and administration of various collective bargaining agreements and labor relations policies.
  • Assess and manage disciplinary actions for hourly employees.
  • Conduct disciplinary/'just cause' hearings.
  • Participate in wage surveys and job analysis as necessary.
  • Engage in the collective bargaining process.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience as an HR Business Partner or Labor Relations Representative
  • Proven ability to collaborate with onsite and virtual teams
  • Knowledge of Human Resource practices and policies, along with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Experience supporting executive-level clients
  • Strong decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Experience in leadership and coaching.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance with an Interim Secret prior to start
Desired Skills:

  • 6 or more years of HR experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with represented employees
  • Previous leadership experience in Labor Relations
  • Proficient in HR data analytics
  • Ability to engage with employees at all organizational levels
  • Experience working on Military Installations and/or with Government Contracts/Programs
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens for consideration.

Work Environment: This position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week, with options for condensed schedules.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour days, with 3 days off per week.
