Job Title: SpaceX Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced procurement specialist to join our team at SpaceX. As a key member of our purchasing organization, you will be responsible for supporting the expansion and build-out of our launch pads and supporting structures and facilities for the Cape Canaveral launch facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement category strategies to support the continued expansion of the launch site, including the procurement of construction materials, raw materials, and labor.
  • Prepare, issue, and analyze RFx packages for one-time projects and ongoing goods and services requirements for the SpaceX launch site.
  • Manage and maintain supplier relationships, monitor the status of work performed, and conduct comprehensive supplier analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to understand requirements and roadmaps, and recommend and implement sourcing strategies based on various factors.
  • Analyze supplier performance, negotiate contracts, assess new supplier relationships, and consolidate supplier relationships as necessary.
  • Negotiate and implement cost-saving programs with suppliers, issue purchase orders, ensure timely delivery, and resolve invoice issues.
  • Mentor associate buyers and provide guidance and support as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, supply chain, business, or construction.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, supplier management, contract negotiations, or a related field.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, as well as exceptional analytic and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, prioritize appropriately, and respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a strong technical knowledge of current technologies and applications.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to conduct all activities with the highest level of integrity.
Additional Requirements:
  • Position may require long hours and weekend work, as well as willingness to travel as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
