Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Functions:
- Maintain employee and applicant records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the open enrollment and benefits administration processes.
- Conduct reference checks, background investigations, and e-Verify processes.
- Perform data entry in HRIS and manage personnel files.
- Facilitate new employee orientations to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Assist employees and supervisors in understanding HR policies and procedures.
- Manage daily timecards and maintain attendance records.
- Provide accurate data on hours worked.
- Support the Corporate Recruiter in the recruitment and interview processes.
- Assist with the performance evaluation process.
- Document employee relations issues and consult with the HR Director.
- Support employee terminations and conduct exit interviews to gather insights on separations.
- Assist the HR Director with site-specific initiatives.
- Assist in accident investigations and reporting, including documentation and submission to the workers' compensation carrier.
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ensure that employees in designated areas meet medical surveillance requirements.
- Manage medical surveillance records.
- Oversee employer-sponsored PPE logs for employee reimbursement and ensure compliance with specified requirements.
- Provide administrative support for safety-related projects as needed.
- Maintain employee training logs and records.
- Manage material safety data sheets.
- Collaborate with the HR Director and Plant Manager on site-specific projects and initiatives.
- 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources.
- 1-2 years of exposure to safety management.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with effective time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with hourly plant employees.
- Proficient problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to engage with employees on the plant floor to build relationships and understand business operations.
