HR and Safety Coordinator

Cummings Resources, LLC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR and Safety Coordinator to support our on-site timekeeping, recruitment, and hiring processes, as well as general HR needs and safety administration responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities- Maintain employee and applicant documentation as required by governing agencies.
- Assist with open enrollment and benefits administration.
- Conduct reference checks, background checks, and e-Verify.
- Perform HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance.
- Conduct new employee orientations to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
- Assist employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with daily hourly timecards and maintain attendance records.
- Provide daily hours worked data.
- Assist Corporate Recruiter with recruiting and interview process.
- Assist with the performance review process.
- Document employee relation issues and consult with HR Director.
- Assist with employee terminations.
- Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Assist HR Director with site-specific projects.
- Assist with accident investigations and reporting, including documentation, write-up, and submitting information to WC carrier.
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs to ensure compliance.
- Ensure all employees in designated areas are up to date on medical surveillance requirements.
- Maintain medical surveillance records.
- Maintain employer-sponsored PPE logs for employee reimbursement and ensure PPE meets specified requirements.
- Assist Management with any safety-related administrative support or projects as needed.
- Employee Training logs/ records.
- Maintain material safety data sheets.
- Assist HR Director and Plant Manager with site-specific projects and initiatives.
- 2-3 years of HR background
- 1-2 years of safety exposure
- Organized and detail-oriented with good time management skills.
- Excellent people skills - with the ability to relate to and work with hourly plant employees
- Problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills - Excel and Word specific
- Excellent communicator - verbal and written
- Willingness to get out on the plant floor to meet employees where they are to foster relationships and learn business
