Position: Agile Project Facilitator II

ROLE SUMMARY:

Unison Systems is seeking an Agile Project Facilitator for our national telecommunications client to ensure optimal delivery of value to stakeholders. The Agile Project Facilitator will lead daily stand-up meetings and assist the team in adhering to Agile methodologies. This role also encompasses traditional project management responsibilities such as defining project scope, managing resources, communicating project status to stakeholders, overseeing budgets, and addressing risks and issues. Additionally, the facilitator may be involved in authoring user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and participating in testing activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the team and product owner in transforming requirements into functional software.
  • Monitor progress and assist the team in meeting their commitments.
  • Identify issues daily and collaborate with the team to develop solutions.
  • Manage and report on project scope, timelines, resources, and financials.
  • Extract and document project requirements.
  • Create user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure team members comprehend processes and encourage adherence.
  • Define and communicate product quality expectations across the team.
  • Collaborate with the team in planning work, including defect resolution and refactoring, while managing technical debt.
  • Balance the interests of the technical team and product owner when conflicts arise.
  • Eliminate obstacles to allow the team to concentrate on engineering tasks.
  • Lead conflict resolution within the team to foster collaboration.
  • Facilitate project team meetings, including sprint planning, daily scrums, and sprint reviews.
  • Encourage retrospective discussions and support ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Minimize external distractions for the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse groups and mediate conflicts.
  • Understanding of financial controls relevant to project management and consulting.
  • Practical knowledge of scoping and estimating project work.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in Project Management and/or as an Agile Project Facilitator, managing multiple significant projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst and/or Tester is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Hands-on experience with quality management tools and techniques.
  • Certification: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) is a plus.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
