About the Role

The State of Colorado is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our Financial Services Division. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing changes to our MLO system to meet the needs of our Accounting and DOR teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and Manage Project Scope: Develop and manage project plans, including outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for business partners.
  • Conduct Business Analysis: Conduct detailed requirements analysis, document processes, and manage user acceptance testing.
  • Implement Project Plans: Implement project plans for large testing requirements in the MLO system, ensuring that upgrades and service packs are thoroughly tested prior to release.
  • Execute Testing Plans: Execute testing plans, communicate results, and evaluate whether the solution meets the requirements outlined in the acceptance criteria.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Act as a liaison between the section and users, partnering with other stakeholder teams across business units to develop necessary analysis and documentation collaboratively.
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications: Must meet one of the following or any combination of experience/education to meet the minimum qualifications:
  • Option 1: 7 years of experience as a business analyst, process analyst, technology or end user customer support representative, and/or experience conducting analytical work, developing testing plans and scripts, or working in an agile production development environment.
  • Option 2: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or Accounting, or a closely related field, and 3 years of professional experience as a business analyst, process analyst, technology or end user customer support representative, and/or experience conducting analytical work, developing testing plans and scripts, or working in an agile production development environment.
  • Option 3: Master's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or Accounting, or a closely related field, and 1 year of professional experience as a business analyst, process analyst, technology or end user customer support representative, and/or experience conducting analytical work, developing testing plans and scripts, or working in an agile production development environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State Experience with MLO Systems: Experience using MLO systems.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience using agile methodologies.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Experience facilitating meetings.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Business Process Modeling Tools: Experience using business process modeling tools (Visio, Tableau, etc.).
  • Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
