Job Title: Trading Support Associate (Fixed Income)

Job Overview
Under general supervision, the Trading Support Associate utilizes intermediate knowledge and skills acquired through experience and training to assist in specific trading operations within a designated functional area. The role involves adhering to established protocols to execute routine tasks while receiving guidance for more complex responsibilities that may require decision-making. The associate is expected to resolve most inquiries and issues, escalating new or unusual matters to higher-level personnel. Regular interaction with both internal and external clients is essential for gathering, clarifying, or providing necessary information.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Communicates and processes orders to the relevant trading staff.
  2. Ensures trades are executed and confirmed in line with company policies and procedures.
  3. Facilitates the adjustment of prices and the correction of trades.
  4. Investigates trade discrepancies and recommends suitable corrective measures.
  5. Engages with internal and external clients to resolve trading issues.
  6. Maintains and updates trade data in required databases.
  7. Assists in the comparison and allocation of trades.
  8. Handles incoming calls, screens inquiries, and keeps a record of communications as necessary.
  9. Stays updated on trading policies and procedures.
  10. Utilizes standard office equipment and necessary software applications.
  11. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Regulatory requirements pertaining to trading activities.
  • Intermediate comprehension of securities trading concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Fundamental accounting principles and procedures.
  • Front-end systems relevant to the assigned functional area and their connection to account history.
  • Mathematical techniques necessary for verifying and reconciling trading transactions.

Skill in:

  • Identifying financial events impacting orders.
  • Reconciling and rectifying transactions.
  • Updating and managing information systems.
  • Operating a high-volume telephone system.
  • Using standard office equipment and software applications to create documents, spreadsheets, and business correspondence.

Ability to:

  • Manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
  • Read, interpret, analyze, and apply transaction information effectively.
  • Analyze and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and clients.
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Handle stressful situations while providing exceptional customer service in a composed and professional manner.
  • Maintain current knowledge of trading policies and procedures.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the financial services sector.

• OR any equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
