Patient Advocate

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Advocate to join our team at RevOne Companies. As a Patient Advocate, you will play a critical role in building relationships, solving problems, and supporting patients through the application process and follow-up.
Key Responsibilities- Handle a high volume of telephone calls with patients, providing prompt and courteous service.
- Maintain patient databases and work queues, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Provide technical assistance on agency issues, services, and programs, as well as maintain and create files for record-keeping systems.
- Sort, label, and electronically file documents, as well as retrieve information from the HPE overnight process.
- Ensure adequate documentation is maintained, and collect and review patient information to determine eligibility.
- Complete Medicaid applications online using the FSSA Benefits Portal, and prepare documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate clearly, timely, and positively with patients, coworkers, and clients, demonstrating good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and navigate effectively through multiple systems and EMRs.
- Computer proficiency skills are required, with the ability to learn multiple databases and EMRs.
- Ability to multi-task, speaking on the phone, searching databases, and typing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Epic experience is a plus, with a high school diploma or equivalency required.
- One year of experience as a Patient Advocate or an equivalency of training and experience combined.
- Considerable knowledge of Medicaid programs, the Federal Marketplace, and general knowledge of all agency and community programs and services.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures, as well as communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials.
The work can include some difficult aspects, such as dealing with patients on the phone. A detailed two-week training and daily guidance are provided, with a team leader seated in the same area as the Patient Advocate to further assist.
Judgment in addressing patients is required, with the incumbent working in a team environment but taking calls on their own. Calls are recorded and randomly checked for training purposes, with errors may be caught but not immediately.
The incumbent makes a substantial impact on patients' lives, requiring accuracy, empathy, and efficiency when working with patients.
