Job Summary:

The Medical Office Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our physician practice/office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support to our providers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Communication: Greet and communicate with patients in a courteous and professional manner, identifying yourself and your department.
  • Phone Management: Answer telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner, utilizing appropriate scripting.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify active primary and secondary third-party payer insurance coverage eligibility with the payers via prescribed format.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments based on department protocols to maximize provider productivity.
  • Patient Registration: Accurately register patients, ensuring that the required information is obtained, confirming identity, address, phone numbers, PCP, insurance, co-pay, and other pertinent information to complete patient registration.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred. Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent keyboard skills, proficiency in a Windows-based computer environment, and Microsoft Office products.
