About the Role: Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in Hershey, Pennsylvania. As an Pediatric Critical Care Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge in this specialized field.
Job Summary: We are looking for a talented and experienced Physician Assistant with expertise in pediatric critical care medicine to work collaboratively with our team of healthcare professionals. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of critically ill patients. You will also participate in educational activities, such as teaching residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of critically ill patients
- Work collaboratively with attending physicians, fellows, residents, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care
- Participate in educational activities, such as teaching residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in pediatric critical care medicine through ongoing education and professional development
Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Graduate of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the state of employment
- National certification in your state of employment or in another state with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the state of employment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience working in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
