Job Summary

GPI is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for conducting structural analyses, evaluations, and designs for bridge and transportation structure projects. Your expertise will be essential in developing design options, reviewing structural documents, and coordinating plans, specifications, and estimates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analyses, evaluations, and designs for bridge and transportation structure projects
• Develop design options and recommendations with supporting calculations
• Review structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
• Coordinate plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge and transportation structure projects
• Perform quality control reviews of work products developed by junior engineers
• Assist in the planning and management of bridge inspection, design, and rehabilitation projects
• Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance
• Lead routine bridge inspections for state and local agencies
• Manage and review load rating computations for structures owned by state and local agencies
• Develop and coordinate design recommendation reports
• Oversee and review bridge hydrology and hydraulics analyses

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in structural engineering
• B.S. in Structural Engineering degree required (M.S. preferred)
• PE licensure (preferred)
• Experience with MDOT-SHA, MDOT-MDTA, DelDOT, and/or VDOT
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and good work ethic with a desire to work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR)
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents
• Ability to traverse a construction job site and wear required PPE
