Culinary Excellence at Vail Resorts

Vail Resorts is a leading hospitality company that prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences to its guests. As a Cook, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, responsible for assisting the kitchen, promoting teamwork, and maintaining food quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Kitchen Team
    • Understand and operate kitchen equipment, tools, and accessories to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
    • Adhere to and enforce standards for facility and food preparation, cleanliness, and sanitation to maintain a high-quality work environment and guest experience.
  • Maintain Food Quality and Safety
    • Maintain knowledge of current menu items and their ingredients.
    • Prepare ingredients and maintain par levels for demand to minimize waste.
    • Maintain inventory of ingredients using a first-in-first-out method and monitor food waste for reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Culinary Team
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless food preparation and presentation.
    • Participate in training and development programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Culinary Education and Experience
    • Culinary degree or certification preferred.
    • 1-2 years of relevant work experience; supervisory kitchen experience preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, practices, and food safety; ServSafe certifications a plus.
    • Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to work well and communicate with others in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
