Job Title: Dental Lab Manager

Job Summary:

The Dental Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the dental laboratory, ensuring that all activities are coordinated and that the program and system are functioning at optimal capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer the daily activities of the dental lab, working closely with the Director of Dental to ensure smooth operations.
  • Supervise staff and evaluate service delivery to ensure patients receive the highest quality care.
  • Monitor service delivery for quality and timeliness, maintaining a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with physicians and work collaboratively to enhance the success of the practice.
  • Develop and maintain strong inter-departmental teamwork to meet the needs of patients and physicians.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used for each case.
  • Train new technicians in St. Hope Protocol.
  • Fabricate dental appliances, including crowns, bridges, dentures, implants, mouthguards, and orthodontics.
  • Operate common dental lab tools, including porcelain ovens and furnaces, pinning equipment, and lathes.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols, operating procedures (SOPs), and prescriptions.
  • Implement opportunities to build employee morale and individual motivation.
  • Plan, evaluate, and recommend new initiatives as needed.
  • Monitor, coach, and develop staff performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure customer/patient service needs are met.
  • Coordinate cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the working environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of management experience in a dental laboratory setting.
  • Good computer skills, including keyboarding.
  • Highly organized and able to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Certifications and/or trainings in customer service management.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds occasionally without assistance.
  • Able to travel as needed.
