Position Title: Genetic Screening Research Specialist I, II, III

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct massively parallel reporter assays and high-throughput screening across various cellular environments utilizing both cellular and molecular readouts.
  • Design and implement molecular biology protocols including vector construction, DNA/RNA extraction, RT-PCR, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing (Illumina and Nanopore).
  • Independently and collaboratively troubleshoot experiments to enhance screening efficiency, sensitivity, and accuracy.
  • Assist in cell culture operations and experiments across multiple cell lines, both at small and large scales.
  • Develop and perform cell-based assays (AAV/lentiviral transduction, transfection, flow cytometry, immunostaining, and other plate reader assays).
  • Engineer and evaluate cell-based reporter systems utilizing synthetic biology methodologies.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, suggesting corrective measures based on observations and literature reviews.
  • Compile data summaries and present findings to colleagues and management.
  • Create standard operating procedures, adhere to protocols, meticulously document experimental results in lab notebooks, and maintain organized electronic records.
  • Prepare scientific reports and data summaries.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives, linking early discovery efforts with high-throughput screening to identify and refine candidates for further analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience.
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture (culturing, transfecting, and transducing cells, as well as DNA/RNA purification).
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (vector design and cloning, qPCR, primer and probe design, DNA/RNA extraction workflows).
  • A critical thinker with strong communication skills, thriving in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Experience in preparing next-generation sequencing libraries (Illumina and/or Nanopore platforms).
