General Manager Job Description

Wingstop is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our restaurant team. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, providing exceptional customer service, and proactively managing the front- and back-of-house team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, select, orient, train, assign, and schedule team members in partnership with the District Manager.
  • Work with the District Manager and Human Resources to manage performance, including coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members.
  • Communicate job expectations to the staff, plan, monitor, and review performance, plan and review compensation actions, and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner with the District Manager about operational and human resources issues.
  • Perform regular restaurant inspections to ensure the team and restaurant are meeting standards.
  • Track inventory and ensure accurate record keeping.
  • Identify and resolve issues with food preparation and help the team handle customer service issues with grace, courtesy, and the goal of cultivating happy, returning customers.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, proper safety procedures, and complying with health and legal regulations.
Requirements:
  • A guest service mentality and a genuine desire to serve guests.
  • A calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations.
  • An ongoing learner with an insatiable curiosity and an interest in self-improvement.
  • The ability to measure performance, subjectively and objectively.
  • The ability to handle numerous job duties essential to running a restaurant.
  • Competence in the key areas of responsibility, including labor management, store operations, and customer care.
  • Superior leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • A confident and professional demeanor that inspires trust, models best practices, and cultivates morale and teamwork among team members.
  • A proactive problem-solver and decision-maker.
  • A thorough understanding of the importance of good hygiene and food handling practices.
  • A flexible schedule, including weekends and nights.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience.
