Responsibilities:- Patient Check-in and Verification: Greet patients, verify insurance eligibility, and collect co-pays and balances in a professional and courteous manner.
- Front Office Operations: Maintain the readiness of the reception area, perform clerical tasks, and adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Financial Responsibility: Determine and collect each patient's financial responsibility, and provide clear explanations of payment policies and billing processes.
- Support for Physicians and Office Operations: Assist the practice manager and other staff as required, and provide overall support for physicians and office operations.
- Documenting Patient Information: Obtain and document patient history, and understand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Confidentiality and HIPAA Compliance: Collect and maintain all patient and business documents while maintaining confidentiality, and ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Prefer at least one year of experience in a medical office or emergency room setting.
- Urgent Care Experience: Urgent care experience preferred, but not required.
- Schedule: Ability to work 8am to 8pm, 3 days a week, rotating weekends and holidays.
- Insurance Eligibility and Co-pay Determination: Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination.
