CMA - Pulmonary Care Specialist

At AnMed, we are seeking a skilled CMA to join our Pulmonary Department as a Pulmonary Care Specialist. This role is responsible for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing pulmonary rehabilitation, diagnostics, and asthma clinic services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pulmonary staff in the rehabilitation gym with patients during exercise, monitoring vital signs and guiding patients to the next mode of exercise.
- Coordinate referrals for pulmonary rehabilitation, ensuring seamless communication with patients and healthcare providers.
- Obtain insurance authorizations and collect co-pay information for pulmonary rehabilitation patients as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Work at the front desk to register patients for procedures, collecting payments and handling administrative tasks approximately 30% of the time.
- Assist with appointment reminder calls and scanning referrals and chart information.
Qualifications:
- CMA certification from a recognized organization, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
- Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience preferred.
