Job Title: Senior Safety Specialist

NV Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Specialist to join our team. As a Senior Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for administering and coordinating a broad scope of safety services and programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, administer, and facilitate safety compliance programs.
  • Research regulatory changes and trends to maintain consistency and compliance with laws, company safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Interpret and apply federal, state, local, and recognized and enforceable national codes, laws, regulations, and company policies as they relate to company operations or specific work procedures.
  • Conduct facility and job site safety and health inspections.
  • Collaborate with company leadership to implement corrective actions.
  • Perform or facilitate necessary functions related to regulatory and company compliance requirements, including noise dosimetry, atmospheric monitoring, and respiratory fit testing.
  • Respond to and perform investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses.
  • Provide and implement recommendations on cause, corrective actions, and preventative measures.
  • Interpret data and prepare reports for external agencies, internal departments, and company leadership.
  • Assist in regulatory and company reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Serve as a technical adviser for assigned internal safety committees.
  • Represent the company in related local and state safety organizations.
  • Design and deliver safety and health training/briefings for internal customers, external customers, and the public.
  • Participate in the company's public education program as required by USDOT 49 CFR 192.616 to achieve compliance with all stakeholder audiences.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree from an accredited school and 7 years of related experience.
  • Candidates that do not possess an associate degree must have a minimum of 9 years of related work experience.
  • Candidate must possess OSHA 30-hour Outreach Training for Construction within 90 days of hire.
