Job Overview

Position Title: Surgical Benefits Coordinator

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Compensation: $20 - $22 per hour

Reporting To: Manager, Revenue Cycle

Position Summary:

The Surgical Benefits Coordinator is responsible for managing insurance benefits for scheduled surgeries and certain injections across various providers. This role involves sending required deposits to patients and ensuring timely follow-up to confirm payments prior to service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Exhibit exceptional organizational skills and maintain thorough documentation.
  2. Communicate effectively with patients regarding payment inquiries for upcoming services.
  3. Update patient insurance information as necessary through proactive outreach.
  4. Collaborate with the surgery scheduler to address any unpaid deposits.
  5. Verify eligibility and benefits with insurance providers to determine deposit requirements.
  6. Utilize multiple systems, including eCW, Surgimate, and Rivet, to document interactions and complete tasks efficiently.
  7. Retrieve information from faxes as needed.
  8. Work collaboratively with team members to enhance accuracy and operational efficiency.
  9. Assist other departments as directed by the supervisor.
  10. Participate in required meetings and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

No specific licensure or certification is required. Candidates should possess:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Understanding of various insurance plans and their criteria.
  • The ability to interact professionally and courteously.
  • Proficiency in computer usage.
