Job Overview

Position: Court Reporter (Deposition Transcript)

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend legal proceedings and various meetings to create precise verbatim records.
  • Provide read-back of transcripts during trials and court sessions.
  • Format and prepare transcripts in accordance with established standards.
  • Verify and certify the accuracy of printed transcripts.
  • Ensure timely filing of transcripts with the appropriate county clerk.
  • Manage court calendars and coordinate with other court reporters as necessary.
  • Offer administrative support and court management assistance when required.
  • Document significant events during hearings to facilitate the retrieval of prior testimonies.
  • Perform clerical duties, including administering oaths, marking documents, and maintaining logs.
  • Organize meetings and maintain the judge's or court's calendar.
  • Coordinate scheduling of trials and other court events in collaboration with the clerk of court.
  • Handle various administrative tasks, such as responding to phone inquiries, procuring office supplies, and managing the law library.

  • Must attach official certification to the original transcript as evidence of accuracy.
