Job Overview

Position: Court Reporter (Deposition Transcript)

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend judicial sessions and other relevant events to create precise official recordings and document formal and informal discussions.
  • Provide read-back of transcripts during trials and court sessions.
  • Prepare transcripts in accordance with established formats.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of printed transcripts.
  • Submit transcripts to the appropriate county clerk promptly.
  • Examine court schedules and coordinate with other court reporters to ensure coverage as necessary.
  • Offer administrative and court management assistance as required.
  • Take detailed notes during hearings to capture significant occurrences and to reference prior testimonies.
  • Perform clerical duties, including administering oaths, organizing documents, maintaining logs, and transferring stenographic materials to authorized personnel.
  • Coordinate meetings and manage the calendar for the judiciary.
  • Schedule trials and other court activities in collaboration with the court clerk.
  • Execute administrative functions such as answering calls, procuring office supplies, maintaining the law library, and preparing expense reports.
