Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain an organized work environment, ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are readily available.
  • Utilize an Intermec handheld scanner to accurately select products from inventory for shipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on fork truck batteries and maintain relevant records.
  • Prepare items for shipment, which includes packing, sealing, labeling, and stenciling.
  • Complete all required documentation, including packing/shipping forms and bills of lading, ensuring accuracy for each order.
  • Load outgoing shipments and confirm carton counts in accordance with the bill of lading.
  • Notify Material Handlers when inventory levels are low and inform management when supplies need replenishing.
  • Operate material handling equipment as necessary.
  • Unload incoming shipments from overseas containers.
  • Perform basic computer operations as required.
  • Maintain a clean and efficient workspace in line with 5S standards.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, which may include tasks in other production areas.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Basic communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to accurately interpret customer orders and shipping documents.
  • Capability to work independently and complete tasks within the established guidelines and routines.
  • Knowledge and skills typically acquired through a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain certification for Class 'B' forklift operation.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to comprehend written instructions and write clearly with correct spelling and punctuation; basic arithmetic skills.
  • Fundamental computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant standards, including meeting productivity benchmarks.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items are required.
  • Regularly involves standing, walking, and handling materials or equipment weighing up to 70 pounds.

Work Environment:

The position is typically performed in a comfortable setting, with regular exposure to temperature variations, moving machinery, sharp tools, loud noises, chemicals, and fumes, which may pose a moderate risk of discomfort or injury.
