We are seeking a skilled Paratransit Operator to join our team at Rock Region METRO. As a Paratransit Operator, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation services to individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Operate paratransit vehicles and equipment in a safe and courteous manner.
- Provide curb-to-curb transportation services to passengers with disabilities.
- Locate customer addresses using maps and other aids.
- Pick up passengers at designated locations and discharge them at their destinations.
- Collect fares, record time and miles, and provide assistance to passengers as needed.
- Be a source of information for passengers and report traffic conditions and mechanical problems to the appropriate departments.
- Must possess a Class A or B CDL with Passenger endorsement, issued by the Arkansas Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Must have a good driving record as defined by METRO.
- Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment background check, a DOT medical examination, and drug screen.
- Must have the ability to read map coordinates for pick-up's given by dispatch.
This position requires working non-traditional and/or odd hours, split-shifts on various days of the week, including holidays. Work is primarily performed out of doors and on-board transit vehicles.
