Psychiatric Care Provider

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Care Provider to join our team at the Department of Veteran Affairs. As a key member of our outpatient psychiatric services team, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to a diverse population of Veterans, including geriatric and post-deployment combat Veterans.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide diagnostic assessments, medication evaluation and management, suicide risk assessments, crisis intervention, and psychotherapy to patients with psychiatric disorders.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, using evidence-based guidelines and best practices, to ensure effective care and optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, PAs, APRNs, nurses, and other support staff, to enhance coordination of comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure practice of psychiatric medicine is consistent with VA policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, national statutes and regulations, and maintain mandatory continuing education.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans that address the unique needs of our Veteran population.
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate mental health/psychiatric prescribing provider clinical experience (including psychiatric residency) strongly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
