About the Role

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team at our manufacturing facility in Kent, WA. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of manufacturing engineers in the development, manufacturing, test, and delivery of various systems that will be used on Lunar Lander flight vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of manufacturing engineers in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of manufacturing projects.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with Blue Origin's documented policies and procedures, as well as industry specifications.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 7+ years of related combined experience in manufacturing engineering, people leadership, and project management/program management roles at different stages within the product lifecycle, and different stages within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with mentoring engineers in the areas of career development, technical skills, and project management.
  • Previous experience in a product leadership role with significant technical project management responsibility and validated technical depth.
  • Experience leading product and people through various product lifecycle stages including concept, development, and production.
  • Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Strong background with mechanical systems and hands-on fabrication experience.
  • Meticulous customer-focus with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
