About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead our team at our manufacturing facility in Kent, WA. As a key member of our Blue Origin Operations team, you will be responsible for supervising a manufacturing engineering team and ensuring the development, manufacturing, test, and delivery of various systems for our Lunar Lander flight vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement manufacturing plans, work orders, and processes to ensure efficient and effective production.
  • Lead a team of manufacturing engineers in translating engineering design, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight.
  • Evaluate staffing requirements and hire strong candidates to build a team consistent with our leadership principles.
  • Coordinate daily execution of scheduled and unscheduled manufacturing engineering tasks to ensure operational performance expectations are met.
  • Ensure compliance with Blue Origin's documented policies and procedures, as well as industry specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, satellite, and/or aircraft manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment supporting constantly evolving design iterations.
  • Prior people leadership experience managing within fast-paced and evolving environments.
  • 7+ years of related combined experience in manufacturing engineering, people leadership, and project management/program management roles at different stages within the product lifecycle, and different stages within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering.
  • Advanced professional expertise in manufacturing engineering fundamentals across the product lifecycle including requirements, fabrication, assembly, verification, test, and refurbishment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
