Job Description

The estimated salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year.

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a highly motivated and experienced Postsecondary Transition Specialist to join our team. As a Postsecondary Transition Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting students in their transition to postsecondary education and career opportunities. You will work closely with school staff, families, and community partners to develop and implement strategies that promote college readiness, academic achievement, and career success.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Network-level plans for driving postsecondary metrics, including College Application Rates, FAFSA Completion Rates, and Scholarship Awards.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and teachers to provide professional development and support in college readiness and career exploration.
  • Provide direct services to high schools to advance a college-going culture, including curriculum development and enrichment strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison between CPS and community partners to promote postsecondary access and persistence initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of individualized student learning plans and concrete postsecondary plans.
  • Facilitate integrated school counselor/coach planning and implementation using the REACH Counselor Framework, Annual Implementation Plan, and ASCA National Model.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of full-time professional youth development and programming experience; minimum 3 years of full-time professional post-secondary related work experience.
  • Possesses an unyielding commitment to continuous improvement and an unwavering belief that all students can achieve at high levels.
  • Maintains the ability to establish effective working relationships with students, parents, school, network, and central office staff, and representatives from universities, businesses, government, and community-based organizations.
