This role is responsible for the administration of payroll and benefits for our organization. The successful candidate will work closely with HR personnel and operations teams across our regions to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for our 5 companies, working closely with another payroll specialist to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage all employee actions and required documentation for new hires, employee changes, compensation changes, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide timely responses to employee payroll inquiries, addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Coordinate and complete employment verification requests, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Maintain electronic employee records and information in various HR and Payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Benefits:
  • Assist employees with benefits claim issues and plan changes, providing guidance and support.
  • Respond to benefits inquiries on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, and status changes, ensuring accurate and timely information.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all benefit enrollments and provide vendors with accurate eligibility information, updating HRIS databases as necessary.
  • Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, including medical, personal, disability, and FMLA.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and self-motivation, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Produce accurate, detailed, high-volume work in a deadline-driven environment, with a focus on quality and precision.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships at all organizational levels, with a customer service-focused approach.
  • Multi-task and work with multiple priorities and constant demands and interruptions, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Work independently with minimal direction, with a strong ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of human resource practices and current labor laws across multiple states.
  • Become proficient in multiple software programs simultaneously, with a strong ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Excel in Excel skills, including pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas.
  • Basic computer skills in office programs, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to relay information clearly and efficiently.
  • Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information, maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
Required Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous Human Resource and Payroll experience required.
Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience processing payroll in the state of California.
  • Experience with UKG/UltiPro.
