Job Opportunity

The Department of Biostatistics & Epidemiology in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences at UMass Amherst seeks a full-time, benefitted Lecturer. The position involves teaching courses to support the Public Health Sciences undergraduate major and introductory graduate-level classes in biostatistics and/or epidemiology.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in biostatistics and epidemiology
  • Develop and implement curriculum for the Public Health Sciences program
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to achieve departmental goals
Requirements
  • Master's degree or Doctorate in a field related to Public Health
  • Quantitative expertise from graduate-level coursework and/or professional experience
What We Offer

The Public Health Sciences program is an interdisciplinary undergraduate major supported by the SPHHS Departments of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Health Promotion and Policy, and Environmental Health Sciences. Our program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and offers a comprehensive curriculum with required core courses, elective choices, and a Public Health Focus Area.

The Department of Biostatistics & Epidemiology is a collaborative group of faculty researchers and lecturers actively engaged in cutting-edge methodological and collaborative biomedical and public health research. We have enduring partnerships with groups such as the World Health Organization and other international governmental health agencies.
