Ophthalmic Support Specialist

At Boston Children's Hospital, we're committed to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. As an Ophthalmology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock and manage equipment and medication, ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Assist with regulatory compliance, including Joint Commission requirements.
- Gather quotes for equipment purchases and arrange repairs.
- Take and edit photographs, as well as upload them to patient records.
- Measure and record visual fields with automated perimeter.
- Organize patient records and images, and provide administrative support.
- Assist with contact lens insertion and removal, and maintain inventory.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) is preferred.
- Experience in a clinical or science-related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinicians, administrative staff, and families.
- Proficiency in computer and research skills, with the ability to perform tasks such as word processing and data coordination.
