About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing clinical room preparation and supply ordering as needed, stocking equipment and medication, and ensuring proper storage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including stocking supplies and equipment
  • Assist with procedures and ensure patient flow and pertinent documents are prepared and communicated effectively
  • Gather quotes for equipment purchases and arrange repairs
  • Take and edit photographs, and upload them to patient records
  • Measure and record visual fields and intraocular pressures
  • Scan and organize patient records and images
  • Assist with contact lens insertion and removal, and cleaning and inventory

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current registration as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) preferred
  • Experience in a clinical or science-related field preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Computer and research skills
