Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Zoo Animal Curator to join our team at the City of Little Rock Zoo. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and operations of a designated section of the zoo's animal collection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the animal collection, including the care and well-being of a variety of species
  • Develop and implement animal care plans, including enrichment and husbandry activities
  • Collaborate with other animal care staff to ensure the health and well-being of the animals
  • Conduct daily animal observations and record keeping
  • Participate in animal training and behavior modification programs
  • Assist with animal moves and transfers
  • Develop and maintain animal enclosures and habitats
  • Participate in zoo-wide initiatives and projects
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Animal Husbandry, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in animal care, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
