Job Title: Collections Attorney

We are seeking a skilled Collections Attorney to join our team at Jobot. As a Collections Attorney, you will play a pivotal role in representing our clients in various debt collection matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle a portfolio of debt collection cases for clients, including reviewing and analyzing debt documentation, sending demand letters, and initiating legal action when necessary.
  • Conduct legal research to stay updated on relevant laws and regulations related to debt collection, consumer protection, and fair debt practices.
  • Negotiate with debtors, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in debt collection cases to reach favorable settlements and repayment arrangements.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including filing lawsuits, attending hearings, and arguing cases before judges and arbitrators.
  • Prepare legal documents, including complaints, motions, and legal briefs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress, discuss strategy, and address client concerns.
  • Ensure all debt collection practices adhere to federal and state laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other relevant statutes.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files, records, and billing information.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in Arkansas.
  • Minimum of 0-1 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on debt collection and litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of debt collection laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing legal landscapes and provide innovative solutions.
  • Commitment to ethical debt collection practices and client confidentiality.
  • Courtroom experience and litigation skills preferred.
