Job Summary:

The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing and monitoring tax reporting and compliance within our organization. This role demands a high level of understanding and experience in individual income tax, federal and state tax laws, income tax returns, trust, estate, and gift tax returns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant laws.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  • Handle IRS and other tax authority inquiries and audits, and prepare responses.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team.
  • Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business transaction and activities.
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits.
  • Maintain tax balances on general ledger.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with taxation regulations.
  • Recommend tax strategies that align with business goals.
  • Lead and coordinate ad-hoc tax-driven business initiatives.
  • Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a public accounting firm or a professional services firm.
  • Proven work experience as a tax manager.
  • Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all types of tax returns.
  • Good at meeting deadlines and solving problems.
  • Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
  • Analytical skills with detail orientation.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of latest industry developments and their impacts on tax compliance and planning.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
