Joining Our Team at Public Preparatory Network
The After-School Program Educational Coordinator will be tasked with ensuring that the after-school program aligns with the overall academic goals of the institution. This role will primarily involve close collaboration with Activity Specialists, Teachers, and external partners to promote the success of each student in the after-school program. The Coordinator must consistently plan for and monitor the progress of each student to fulfill this responsibility. Additionally, the Coordinator assesses the needs of Special Education students within the General Education student body, ensuring that all activities are accessible and working in partnership with the Director of Inclusive Learning and other members of the academic team to align after-school activity lesson plans with IEP/504 requirements. The Coordinator also oversees and supports the administrative and operational aspects of the program, including managing attendance, generating reports, leading family communication initiatives, and assisting with behavior management and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize weekly meetings with Activity Specialists, Teachers, and partners to review submitted activity plans for alignment and quality.
  • Create a rotational observation schedule for after-school activities, ensuring consistent monitoring.
  • Provide regular feedback and communicate program needs to after-school staff.
  • Manage attendance records for all activities.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator on family communication initiatives.
  • Support the After-School team and Family Coordinator in addressing student behavioral issues.
  • Provide coverage for after-school activities as necessary.
  • Serve one or two lunch duty periods weekly.
  • Ensure timely submission of activity lesson plans by communicating with activity leaders.
  • Revise and adapt activity plans through observation and feedback meetings to ensure accessibility for all participants.
  • Maintain organized records of lesson plans, submissions, observation notes, and student files.
  • Assist with filing, regular activity enrollment, data entry, and program application management.
  • Support the Director in planning special after-school events and managing arrival, dismissal, and pick-up.
  • Assist the Director and leadership team with additional projects as needed.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • While certification is not mandatory, a Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven ability to strategize, manage multiple initiatives, and oversee complex information systematically.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional collaborative skills and the ability to accept and implement feedback.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the education sector, its systems, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with SIS functions such as PowerSchool, E-School, ATS, and/or DYCD Online.
  • A strong commitment to single-sex education.
The After-School Program Educational Coordinator is a full-time position.
