Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Systems Director to join our team at Ingram Barge Company. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall electrical systems for our vessels and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the direction of the Engineering department, ensuring the electrical and controls needs of our vessels and facilities are met.
  • Provide analytical and problem-solving expertise to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Maintain a high level of safety support through regular safety observations, evaluations, and audits.
  • Stay up-to-date with current and new technologies to ensure our electrical systems remain efficient and effective.
  • Ensure proper documentation of electrical work is maintained, including logs, records, drawings, and other documents.
  • Attend regular staff, Overhaul, ISAFE, and project progress meetings to stay informed and provide updates.
  • SOURCE AND MANAGE PARTS FOR PROJECTS AND OVERHAULS, SUPERVISE DAILY SHORE SIDE OR RUNNING VESSEL REPAIRS.
  • Coordinate and direct vendors and Ingram associates during the process of electrical repair or installation.
  • Experience with the installation of automated control processes of electrical and mechanical equipment is highly desirable.
  • Review invoices from overhauls and general electrical repair to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assure essential documentation from vessel repairs is maintained.
  • Provide training and guidance to chief and junior engineers to ensure knowledge transfer and development.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electrical systems management, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and direct teams.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with current and new technologies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
