  • Collaborate with executives, management, hospital staff, and medical staff to develop a culture of safety and medical error prevention.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and failure mode effect analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to patient safety.
  • Provide education and training to staff on patient safety best practices.
  • Monitor and report on patient safety metrics and trends.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to patient safety.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
  • Working knowledge of nursing in a hospital setting.
  • Understanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements as they relate to patient safety and performance improvement.
  • Working knowledge of quality improvement tools, data analysis, and statistics.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Alabama RN License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and failure mode effect analysis processes.
  • Ability to critically analyze research articles and apply findings to practice.
  • Successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Leader education master's program or experience in a CNL role.
  • CPHQ certification.
