Key Responsibilities:


We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at an Asphalt Production Facility, part of one of the leading heavy civil construction firms in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Essential skills include critical thinking, mechanical aptitude, effective communication, a willingness to learn, a strong focus on safety, and a diligent work ethic. Experience in equipment operation and mechanical tasks is advantageous.

The work environment is fast-paced and plays a crucial role in the success of significant heavy civil construction projects, particularly on major highways and interstates.


Operate asphalt production equipment, including automated drum and batch plant systems, with operations managed through computerized control systems.

Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure compliance with specifications, adjusting mix formulas and production processes as necessary.


Monitor plant operations, make adjustments as required, load materials onto trucks, and coordinate truck dispatch.


Engage with internal paving crews and project teams, as well as external clients, to optimize production, reduce waste, and enhance quality.


Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality service and product delivery.


Maintain optimal plant performance to minimize downtime and enhance customer satisfaction.


Foster a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues by participating in safety discussions and supporting the company's safety vision.


Plan production schedules for the upcoming day and adjust current schedules as needed.


Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly documentation and reporting as required.


Prepare the production plan for the next day and order necessary raw materials.


Assist with preventative maintenance, scheduled repairs, and breakdown repairs, focusing on minimizing downtime and providing innovative solutions.


Participate as an equipment operator when necessary, operating a CAT 980 or 966 Loader to feed raw materials into cold feed/recycle bins and manage stockyard operations.

We also utilize manlifts, material handlers, skid steers, and forklifts, among other equipment. Training and evaluation are conducted prior to operating any of these machines. Equipment operators are responsible for pre-shift inspections and maintenance of the equipment.



Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Basic mechanical skills and fundamental computer knowledge are necessary.

Experience with mobile or stationary equipment is beneficial, as is experience in manufacturing or construction sectors.

Physical Demands - Labor intensity can vary from light to heavy.


Work Environment - Control tower, outdoor industrial settings, inside mobile equipment, and stationary equipment where personal protective equipment (PPE), monitoring systems, and safety precautions are employed to mitigate exposure to hazards.
