Location: Maple Ridge Manor

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year

Job Description:

This role involves coordinating resident care related to medications by working with all departments, the medical community, families, and administrative staff to provide for resident needs with continuity and adherence to the scope of practice and licensure.

The Medication Aide will supervise the medication room, pass techniques, documentation, and provision of care related to medication. This includes ensuring that medication carts are completely stocked with required medications as ordered by physicians.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to coordinate medication orders and deliveries with pharmacies. They will also communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed and monitor psychotropic medication use in accordance with physician orders.

The Medication Aide will control medication room access and key assignment, pour, pass, and assist with administration of medications in accordance with state regulations. They will also provide mentorship for new Medication Aides.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate resident care related to medications
  • Supervise the medication room and pass techniques
  • Ensure medication carts are stocked with required medications
  • Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed
  • Monitor psychotropic medication use
  • Control medication room access and key assignment
  • Pour, pass, and assist with administration of medications
  • Provide mentorship for new Medication Aides

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate medication orders and deliveries with pharmacies
  • Knowledge of state regulations regarding medication administration
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
