This role involves overseeing and coordinating the activities of personnel in the operating room, ensuring compliance with established procedures and schedules.

The CST/LPN Team Lead is responsible for managing the procurement and upkeep of surgical equipment and supplies, as well as overseeing staff training and budgeting.

With minimal supervision, this position supports the Manager of Surgical Services by preparing, maintaining, and anticipating the instrument and procedural requirements for all surgical operations.

The lead surgical technologist will also facilitate the orientation and ongoing education of all technical staff in the perioperative environment by aiding in the implementation of all facility policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold standards of care for surgical patients in accordance with AORN guidelines.
  • Exhibit knowledge and proficiency in the proper handling of surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Implement universal precautions and infection control measures in daily patient care activities.
  • Utilize appropriate lifting techniques during patient transfers and positioning.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program and eligibility for certification.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT is advantageous.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift over 25 lbs and assist with patient positioning and transfers, including lifting 50 lbs or more.

Work Environment:

This position is onsite. Compensation ranges from $32 to $42 per hour.
