Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain sterile operating rooms, ensuring all equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and organized.
  • Stock and manage surgical supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels and minimizing waste.
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, washing and disinfecting incision sites, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and sterile environment, adhering to all infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures, participating in ongoing education and training.

Requirements:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification, obtained through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, obtained through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with a strong understanding of perioperative care and surgical procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong foundation in science and mathematics.
