JOB SUMMARY:
The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for providing cleaning and maintenance services within the designated facility under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including offices, restrooms, kitchen/cafeteria, and surrounding grounds.
- Assist in the cleanup of spills and standing water.
- Adhere to specific cleaning protocols, including the proper use of vacuum and wet vacuum.
- Operate floor maintenance equipment such as floor scrubbers, high-speed buffers, and burnishers.
- Clean and maintain carpets using appropriate cleaning tools and supplies, such as carpet extractors and shampooers.
- Notify the Supervisor regarding low inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Participate in regular training and safety drills.
- Provide backup custodial support to other contracts as necessary.

- Assist with snow removal and salting of sidewalks during inclement weather as required.

- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one year of custodial experience in a large facility (greater than 100,000 square feet) may be required.

SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:

- Effective communication skills to convey messages clearly.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Proficient in operating janitorial equipment.
