Your RoleAs a Field Process Engineer at Lam, you will be a key player in understanding and addressing customer needs, leveraging your expertise to support installations, training, and design enhancements with product teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing on-site assistance at customer facilities, ensuring familiarity with their wafer fabrication processes and techniques.
- Identifying and resolving integration challenges within the process flow.
- Conducting Design of Experiments (DOE), evaluating processes, and documenting outcomes related to hardware installations and upgrades.
You will:
- Collaborate closely with the Account team and customers to grasp their technology roadmaps, process flows, and business challenges.
- Identify opportunities for Lam to add value to customer operations.
- Execute strategies for market penetration and defense, coordinating with Global Product Group for product demonstrations.
- Oversee the startup of new Lam systems, ensuring alignment with existing applications.
- Design and conduct simple DOE evaluations to define process windows for new installations or recommended hardware modifications.
- Perform experiments, analyze data, and generate comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop innovative processes tailored to new and existing customer applications.
- Represent Lam professionally in all customer interactions.
- Maintain and secure company equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
- Ensure a safe working environment at all job sites.
- Complete any additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or a related discipline; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Analytical mindset with systematic problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage customers effectively on technical solutions.
- Willingness to work in a fabrication environment and perform standby duties.
- Capability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Flexibility to support short-term international assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Foundational skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
