Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Intake Coordinator to manage inquiries from employees, providers, and clients regarding insurance pre-certifications, benefit verification, and other healthcare-related services.

The ideal candidate will have experience in medical necessity review, building authorization, and working with determinations. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to calls and faxes, determine the reason for inquiries, and route them appropriately.
  • Review faxes for clinical criteria, assist with pre-certifications, discharge planning, and case management.
  • Advise on certification requirements and connect callers with the benefits department when needed.
  • Accurately collect demographic and medical coding information (CPT, HCPS, Diagnosis Codes) and enter into the system.
  • Make outbound calls for clinical information and discharge dates.
  • Assist with voicemail transcription, case verification, and quality improvement tasks.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have experience in insurance and medical necessity review.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Ability to work remotely within the general Lancaster County, PA area but report on-site if needed.
  • Quiet, dedicated workspace at home with a high-speed internet connection.
