Job Summary

Ogletree Deakins is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its national labor and employment practice in Indianapolis, IN. The successful candidate will perform sophisticated and substantive billable work to support Firm attorneys and Fortune 500 clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research, investigate facts, and prepare documents to assist attorneys with matters in state and federal courts and administrative agencies
  • Summarize complex legal documents and maintain, organize, and index complex case files
  • e-File pleadings with state and federal courts and prepare correspondence
  • Draft a wide variety of legal documents, including notices, subpoenas, declarations, and form pleadings
  • Cite check briefs and prepare supporting exhibits
  • Assist with document collection, review, and production, and provide attorney support for hearing and deposition preparation
  • Prepare for mediations, arbitrations, and trials, and provide attorney support during trials and arbitrations
  • Communicate with witnesses and experts, and assist with scheduling and coordinate with the docketing team
  • Record and enter billable time in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Paralegal certification from an accredited program or a Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of paralegal experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a labor/employment litigation practice
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Results-oriented and superb time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and document management systems
