Job Description

Quilling, Selander, Lownds, Winslett & Moser, P.C. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Attorney to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated attorney to represent our clients in federal court and some state court litigation proceedings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Case Management: Review and evaluate cases for liability issues, settlement potential, and settlement valuation and likelihood of success on a dispositive motion or trial.
  • Discovery and Litigation: Conduct written discovery, take depositions, draft and argue discovery motions and dispositive motions, participate in settlement conferences and mediations, and engage in settlement negotiations.
  • Court Appearances: Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and settlement agreements and appear in court proceedings in courts across the country (occasional travel required).
  • Client Communication: Communicate with counsel for co-defendants and Plaintiff's counsel on discovery, settlement, and other matters, and communicate with clients and internally with attorneys and paralegals to ensure efficient and effective handling of cases.
  • Business Acumen: Become familiar with the client's business processes to provide advice on avoiding litigation and limiting liability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 3-10 years of working knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and consumer law.
  • Licenses: Licensed in Indiana, other licenses are a plus.
  • Education: J.D. from an accredited law school.
